247sports’ No. 36 ranked high school small forward Jared Ridder has committed to Xavier.
The 6-7 wing averaged 20.4 points and 6.1 rebounds this season for Kickapoo HS (Springfield, MO), leading the team to a 29-3 record and the Class 5 state championship title game.
Ridder was the Ozark Conference Player of the Year, an all-state selection, and was named to the Tournament of Champions All-Tournament team.
He also sank 55 threes this year.
“Through the entire recruiting process one school has always stuck out to me,” Ridder said via Twitter on why he chose Xavier. “After visiting this past week it is clear that there is no other place I can see myself playing in college.”
“Special thanks to Coach [Chris] Mack and the rest of the staff for making Xavier feel like home,” added Ridder. “Can’t wait for this opportunity, and I feel truly blessed.”
Ridder, a three-point sniper who is averaging 43 percent from behind the arc for MoKan Elite in the Nike EYBL, said Xavier’s style of play is perfect for his game.
“They talked to me about how versatile I am and that anyone that rebounds can bring it up the floor and spot and shoot, which is one of my biggest attributes,” Ridder told Scout.com.
Xavier beat out the likes of Arkansas, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Northern Iowa, and Missouri State to land Ridder.
