West Virginia’s Devin Ebanks Signs In Italy

Former West Virginia star Devin Ebanks has signed with Mens Sana 1871 Siena of Italy’s Serie A2 league.

The 6-9 small forward comes from Puerto Rico where he was the BSN league’s third leading scorer this season, averaging 20.2 points and 4.3 rebounds for San German.

He also guided the team to the BSN playoffs, where San German lost to Quebradillas in seven games in the first round.

Ebanks also played in the NBA D-league this year, averaging 22 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Grand Rapids Drive.

A college star at West Virginia, Ebanks led the team in rebounding and was third in scoring as a senior when he averaged 12 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 2009-10.

He also led the Mountaineers to a 31-7 record that season and the NCAA tournament’s Final Four.

The 43rd overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2010 draft, Ebanks has averaged 3.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in parts of three NBA seasons with the Lakers.

Ebanks will be joining a Mens Sana 1871 team that finished 14-16 last season and was led by top scorer KT Harrell (Auburn), who averaged 19.3 points a game.
