Texas’ Damion James Signs In Israel

Former Texas star and NBA player Damion James has signed with Hapoel Eilat in Israel’s Winner League.

The 6-7 forward comes from the Puerto Rico BSN, where he averaged 13.6 points and 7.9 rebounds this season for Cariduros de Fajardo.

James also played part of the year in the Mexican LNBP league, averaging 18.9 points and 6.4 boards for Toros De Nuevo Laredo.

A college star at Texas, James averaged 18 points and 10.3 rebounds as a senior while being named an AP Third-team All-American.

As a freshman, he was a Longhorn teammate with current NBA superstar Kevin Durant.

A 2010 first round draft pick (24th overall) by the Hawks, James averaged 3.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in parts of four NBA seasons with the Nets and Spurs.

As a prep star, James averaged 26 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists, and 6 blocks at Nacogdoches High School (TX), leading the team to a 26-8 record and the 4A Region III quarterfinals as a senior.

He has also played overseas in France and with the NBA G League’s Texas Legends.
