The G League’s Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired former Kentucky star Terrence Jones off waivers.
Santa Cruz used the waiver claim priority they got when their guard Antonius Cleveland was called up to the Mavs on Nov. 17.
Jones, a 6-9, 255-pound forward, averaged 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds last season splitting time with the Pelicans and Bucks.
A college star at Kentucky, he was third in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore in 2011-12 for a loaded Wildcat team that also featured Anthony Davis.
Jones helped lead UK to a 38-2 record and the NCAA championship that season.
He left as one of just six players in Kentucky history to have 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 140 blocks in their career.
The 18th overall pick in the 2012 Draft, Jones has averaged 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in five NBA seasons with the Rockets, Pelicans, and Bucks.
ESPN’s No. 9 ranked player in the 2010 high school class, he averaged 32 points and 14 rebounds as a senior at Jefferson HS (Portland, OR), leading the team to three straight Oregon class 5A State Championships.
