Former San Diego State star Jamaal Franklin has re-signed with Shanxi Zhongyu of the Chinese Basketball Association.
The 6-5 shooting guard comes from the Puerto Rico BSN League where he averaged 12 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.8 rebounds for Brujos de Guayama this season.
Last year Franklin also played in China with Shanxi Zhongyu, where he averaged a monster 33.9-point, 10.8-rebound, 10.3-assist triple double.
He led the CBA in assists and steals (3.3 spg), and was fourth in scoring.
Franklin also was in the NBA D-League where he averaged 11.3 points, 5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in four games this season with the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
He also played the prior year in China, averaging a whopping 28.5 points, along with 6.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists for the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions.
In 2013-14, Franklin was back in the NBADL, where he averaged 15.8 points, 5.6 boards and 4.3 assists with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
A college star at San Diego State, Franklin led the team in scoring (17.0), rebounding (9.5), assists (3.3) and steals (1.6) in 2012-13, becoming the only Division I player in America to lead his squad in all four categories that season.
A two-time Associated Press All-American, Franklin was named to the Mountain West first-team twice and led the Aztecs to the 2013 NCAA tournament.
The Memphis Grizzlies picked Franklin in the second round (41st overall) in the 2013 draft.
In the NBA, Franklin averaged 1 point and 1 assist in parts of two NBA seasons with the Grizzlies and Nuggets.
