The Toronto Raptors beat the Miami Heat 116-89 Sunday in a do-or-die Game 7 of their second round NBA playoff series to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Kyle Lowry poured in a game high 35 points with 9 assists and 7 rebounds, DeMar DeRozan scored 28, while Bismack Biyombo chipped in 17 points with 16 rebounds in the series clinching home win.

For the Heat, Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic had 16 points apiece, while rookie Justise Winslow added 14 points with 8 rebounds in the season ending loss.

The Raptors’ dynamic backcourt of Lowry and DeRozan dominated this game as Lowry buried 5 three pointers, and DeRozan had 8 rebounds to go along with his 28 points.

“We never doubted Kyle and DeMar,” Raptors head coach Dwane Casey told ESPN. “They’re our All-Stars, and they both played like it tonight. They both stepped up and carried us.”

Toronto also pounded Miami on the boards, outerebounding them 50-30 on the glass led by Biyombo and Patrick Patterson (11 boards).

“I thought tonight we played big,” Casey told the Toronto Sun. “I thought Bismack and Patrick did that. They played big. Tonight our big guys made them pay.”

Next up is a matchup with King James and the Cavs with Game 1 on Tuesday in Cleveland.

For the Raptors, it is the first time in their history that they are going to the Eastern Conference Finals.

But Lowry said the team wants more.

“We ain’t satisfied,” said Lowry said. “That’s just our mentality. We kept it internal, but our goal is to play as long as possible. Yeah, everyone is excited but we want to continue and get four more wins to get to the Finals.”

“We know we have a tough task ahead, but it’s still basketball. They’ve got to lace them up and we have to lace them up and go at it.”
