Former Providence star and NBA player MarShon Brooks poured in 44 points to lead the Jiangsu Dragons past the Fujian Sturgeons 125-116 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
The 6-5 guard drilled 4 threes while shooting a red hot 76 percent (13-of-17) from two-point range.
Brooks also had 9 assists and 6 rebounds in the game.
Hongfei Shi added 25 points for Jiangsu in the win.
For Fujian, Russ Smith (Louisville) had 39 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals in the loss.
But the star of the game was Brooks, who is the CBA’s third leading scorer this season and is eighth in assists, averaging 39.5 points and 6 dimes for Jiangsu.
A college star at Providence, Brooks was second in the nation in scoring as a senior when he averaged 24.6 points and a team-leading 7 rebounds 2010-11.
He graduated as the Friars ninth all-time career leading scorer.
The 25th overall pick in the 2011 Draft by Brooklyn, Brooks has averaged 7.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in three NBA seasons with the Nets, Celtics, Warriors, and Lakers.
