Former Ohio State star LaQuinton Ross had a monster 38-point, 24-rebound double double to lead Fujian over Hebei X. 126-120 in OT in China’s NBL league.
The 6-8 forward shot a red-hot 59 percent (10-of-17) from two-point range, while sinking 15-of-18 from the charity stripe.
Ross also had 6 assists and 2 steals in the game.
For Hebei, Brandon Costner (NC State) had 47 points and Shannon Shorter (North Texas) added 29 points in the high-scoring overtime loss.
But the star of the game was Ross, who is averaging 26.1 points and 12.9 rebounds this season for Fujian.
A college star at Ohio State, Ross led the team in scoring and rebounding as a junior in 2013-14 when he averaged 15.2 points and 5.9 rebounds and guided the Buckeyes to an NCAA Tournament berth.
He was also named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team that season.
Unselected in the 2014 NBA Draft, Ross played for the Lakers in the NBA Summer League that year.
He has also played overseas in Italy, including averaging 17.1 points and 7.1 rebounds for Consultinvest Pesaro (Lega Serie A ) in 2014-15.
A high school star at Life Center Academy (Burlington, NJ), Ross averaged 25.4 points and 11.3 rebounds as a senior and was named District Championship MVP.
