ESPN No. 35 ranked high school junior Daejon Davis has decommitted from the University of Washington.
The 6-4 shooting guard averaged 20.1 points and 11 rebounds for Lakeside School (Nine Mile Falls, WA) as a sophomore in 2014-15.
“Honestly, I just haven’t felt the same about it and I never looked at other options, so I just decided that I’d at least look around and find my most fitting college to attend, which could still very well be UW,” Davis told Scout.com.
“I just wanna play my game and see who comes,” Davis added.
Davis, a Seattle-native, originally said he picked Washington to stay close to home.
“Most guys leave the town to go to other places and other cities,” Davis told Dawgman.com back in August. “I felt it was only right to stay to do great things in this city and be successful. My younger [AAU] Rotary team can watch me play, my younger brother, my Mom.”
But now it looks like those plans have changed.
According to scout.com, “Daejon Davis is a versatile shooting guard whose best attribute may be the fact that he’s a rare off guard who is such a good passer. The amount of ways he has to score or create off the dribble makes him a very tough player to defend.”
