ESPN No. 33 ranked high school junior and UNC commit Coby White has made his predications for the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
His Final Four picks are Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, and sleeper West Virginia.
And to win it all, White says that his future school UNC will be the 2017 NCAA national champions.
“They’re the best team and they have the experience after losing on the buzzer beater in the title game last year,” White told USA Today of the Tar Heels. “They have a good point guard, bigs and a really good wing in Justin Jackson. Just the overall leadership of the team will be the difference.”
White, a 6-4 point guard, averaged 28.2 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists for Greenfield HS (Wilson, NC), the previous season as a sophomore.
He also had a strong year on the Nike EYBL last spring, averaging 15.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists for CP3.
UNC coaches were impressed with the combo guard’s play with CP3 on the AAU circuit.
“Few players on the 16-under circuit impressed as much as Coby White in terms of scoring,” said Inside Carolina recruiting analyst Rob Harrington. “A slender guard with a slightly herky-jerky game, White unleashes long bombs to stretch defenses and changes speeds with his dribble to create driving opportunities.”
“He’s also a fine handler and passer with a solid frame to build upon for the college level,” Harrington added.
