247sports’ No. 21 ranked high school junior center Morris Udeze has picked his top five colleges.
They are: Butler, LSU, Ohio State, TCU and Wichita State.
The 6-8, 240-pound big man out of Montverde Academy (FL) averaged 9.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks on 59 percent shooting this spring for the Houston Defenders on the Under Armour Association circuit.
Big East Coast Bias’ Eugene Rapay said that Udeze is rough and rugged big.
“Udeze is a tough bruiser inside that is dangerous when he can find a rhythm in the post,” Rapay wrote. “He is a rim-rattling dunker and possesses great strength when finishing around the basket.”
“Defensively, he’s physical, tough, and can rebound,” adds Rapay. “Udeze anchors the paint and doesn’t make it easy for opponents.”
Here’s what Udeze had to say about a few of the schools in his top five:
“[Butler] fit[s] my style of play and they are very close down there. Everybody is in for a common goal,” Udeze told Zagsblog. “LSU is a great school that loves my game and the tenacious way I play.”
“[TCU has a] great team down there in Fort Worth,” added Udeze. “New coach, new system of play. I like how they let their young guns run the show.”
