ESPN No. 18 ranked high school junior point guard Grant Sherfield has committed to UCLA.
The 6-2 floor general averaged 20.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last season for North Crowley (Fort Worth, TX) when he was the District 4-6A sophomore of the year.
“After I went on the visit a few weeks ago, it just clicked that that was the place for me,” Sherfield told Scout of UCLA. “The staff is real down to earth. They are great guys. They know the game and they develop players as well.”
Sherfield prides himself on his all-around game.
“I’m an explosive combo guard,” Sherfield told Rivals. “I can score the ball. I can play well defensively and I’m a good passer.”
Rivals’ Eric Bossi loves Sherfield’s game.
“[Sherfield’s] a high scoring guard who has a strong frame and loads of confidence,” wrote Bossi. “He’s at his best creating off the dribble and using his strength to get downhill and finish in traffic. He has good range on his jumper and doesn’t lack for toughness. “
The Bruins beat out the likes of Alabama, TCU, and Wichita State to land Sherfield.
At UCLA, Sherfield will join fellow 2019 recruit No. 7 LaMelo Ball.
