NBA veteran and France native Kevin Seraphin poured in 24 points to lead Spain’s FC Barcelona over Greece’s Panathinaikos 98-71 in the Euroleague.
The 6-10, 278-pound forward shot a blistering 75 percent (9-of-12) from the field, while grabbing 9 rebounds.
Seraphin also had 2 assists and 3 blocks in the game.
Frenchman Adrien Moerman added 16 points and 11 rebounds for FC Barcelona in the win.
For Panathinaikos, Nick Calathes (Florida) had 14 points and 6 assists in the loss.
But the star of the game was Seraphin, who comes from the Indiana Pacers, where he averaged 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds last season.
The 17th overall pick by the Bulls in the 2010 NBA Draft, Seraphin has averaged 5.9 points and 3.5 rebounds in seven NBA seasons with the Wizards, Knicks, and Pacers.
He played on the French national team at the 2017 Eurobasket this summer, averaging 8.2 points and 3.5 rebounds.
Seraphin was released by the Pacers this summer before his contract guarantee for the upcoming season kicked in.
“Being cut so late in the summer doesn’t bode well for Seraphin’s chances of finding another roster spot, but he proved last season that he belongs in this league,” wrote 8points9seconds.com’s Hunter Kuffe. “Hopefully, a team with an empty spot will take a chance on him and let him continue to show the NBA what he can do.”
