Former Michigan star Trey Burke was named the NBA G League’s Performer of the Week.
The 6-1 point guard averaged a whopping 31.3 points last week in four games for the Westchester Knicks.
Burke’s big week was highlighted by his 39-point explosion in a 117-94 win over the Maine Red Claws on Dec. 4.
He drilled 6 threes while shooting a blistering 86 percent (6-of-7) from behind the arc in the game.
Burke also had 6 assists and 3 steals in the big win.
On the season, Burke is the G League’s second leading scorer, averaging 25.3 points along with 5.7 assists and 1.7 steals.
Earlier this year he set Westchester’s all-time single season scoring record when he poured in 43 points against the Delaware 87ers on Nov. 7.
A college star at Michigan, Burke led the team in scoring and assists as a sophomore in 2012-13, averaging 18.6 points and 6.7 dimes while guiding the Wolverines to a 31-8 record and NCAA Tournament Final.
The 9th overall pick in the 2013 Draft, Burke has averaged 10.6 points and 3.6 assists in four NBA seasons with the Jazz and Wizards.
