K.J. Martin, the son of 15-year NBA player Kenyon Martin, is transferring to Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA).
The 6-6 sophomore, who played at Chaminade High (Los Angeles) this season, is having a great summer.
Martin poured in 33 points, with 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks at the 2019 class War on the Floor Future Stars event last weekend,
“The program and the success they had in the past years made me come over there,” Martin told USA Today on why he is moving on to Sierra Canyon. “The schedule they have playing nationally was something I need to be in.”
Martin, a big-time dunker, will join a Sierra Canyon team that features ESPN No. 1 junior Marvin Bagley and has also recently added ESPN No. 9 soph Cassius Stanley.
“I think Cassius coming is a great fit for the program,” said Martin. “He’s someone who can get to the basket whenever he wants and also able to knock a jump shot down.”
