Iowa St Gets ODU Grad Transfer Zoran Talley

Iowa State had added Old Dominion graduate transfer Zoran Talley.

The 6-7 forward was ODU’s second leading scorer this season, averaging 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists when he was named Conference USA’s Sixth Man of the Year.

“We are excited to add Zoran to our program,” Iowa State head coach Steve Prohm said via a statement. “He has had great success, both personally and as a team, at ODU and will be an asset for our team.”

“Zoran brings versatility on both ends of the floor and his ability to play and guard several positions will benefit us,” added Prohm. “He can score and make plays, and with him being immediately eligible, that is great for us.”

Talley said he was looking forward to joining the Cyclones.

“It’s a win-win,” Talley told desmoinesregister.com. “I’m excited to get on campus and I look forward to ‘Hilton Magic.’ [famous home arena Hilton Coliseum]. I’ve been hearing so much, so many crazy things about it and I believe, as for the staff as well, I’m a good pickup.”

A high school star at Don Bosco Prep (IL), Talley averaged 16.3 points and 6.1 rebounds as a senior in 2013-14.

He played his first three high school seasons at Merrillville HS (IN), where he was a Times All-Area First Team selection as a junior in 2012-13.
