G League Announces 2017 Local Tryouts Schedule

The NBA G League has announced its schedule for local tryouts.   Each NABGL team holds open tryouts before every season in an attempt to find local basketball stars that they can add to their rosters.   Teams can then invite as many as five of these players to training camp to vie for spots on their club.   Some previous open tryout success stories include the Orlando Magic’s Jonathon Simmons from the Austin Spurs; and David Nwaba, who is currently with the Chicago Bulls via the LA D-Fenders and Austin Spurs   Simmons, a 6-6 shooting guard out of the University of Houston, made the Austin Spurs in their 2013 open tryout.   He played for the NBA Spurs the last two seasons, averaging 6.1 points and 1.9 rebounds, before signing a three-year deal with the Orlando Magic in July.   Below is the complete NBA G League local open tryouts schedule:   2016 Schedule   Austin Spurs (San Antonio Spurs): September 16 — Round Rock, Texas | More Info Canton Charge (Cleveland Cavaliers): September 23 — Canton, Ohio | More Info Fort Wayne Mad Ants (Indiana Pacers): September 23 — Fort Wayne, Indiana | More Info Grand Rapids Drive (Detroit Pistons): October 1 — Byron Center, Michigan | More Info Greensboro Swarm (Charlotte Hornets): September 16 — Greensboro, North Carolina | More Info Northern Arizona Suns (Phoenix Suns): September 9 — Prescott Valley, Arizona | September 16 — Phoenix, Arizona | More Info Reno Bighorns (Sacramento Kings): August 26 & 27 — Reno, Nevada | September 23 & 24 — Sacramento, California | More Info Windy City Bulls (Chicago Bulls): September 16 & 17 — Chicago, Illinois | More Info     For more basketball news go to http://www.blacktoptv.com/
