NBAs Valanciunas Lauds Ball Bros. Europe Move

NBAs Valanciunas Lauds Ball Brothers’ Europe Move

Toronto Raptors star Jonas Valanciunas said he loves LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball’s decision to play overseas in his native Lithuania with Prienu Vytautas.   "They're getting themselves into a great opportunity, Lithuania is beautiful country,” Valanciunas told ESPN “It's a high level of basketball. The sky's the limit. They [can] go out there [and] they show they can play.”   “We have great basketball history,” added Valanciunas. “We're such a small country, but we have many, many great players. Our basketball school is good, so they chose a really good school. If they have any problems, let me know. I can help them out."   The 7-0 Valanciunas, who led Lithuania to the 2016 Rio Olympics quarterfinal, also said the Ball Brothers will not have a problem with the language since everyone there also speaks English.   ESPN No. 7 ranked high school junior LaMelo Ball and his brother, ex-UCLA freshman LiAngelo, who recently left the school amid his China shoplifting arrest, signed with agent Harrison Gaines earlier this week, ending their amateur careers.   The brothers then signed one-year deals with Lithuania’s Prienu Vytautas.   LaMelo, a 6-2 point guard, averaged 26.7 points last season for Chino Hills HS (CA) as a sophomore, including pouring in an eye-popping 92 points in a 146-123 win over Los Osos in February.   The 6-5 LiAngelo Ball, ESPN’s No. 41 SF in the 2017 high school class and younger brother of Lakers’ 2017 No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball, averaged 33.8 points last season for Chino Hills, leading the team to a 30-3 record.     For more basketball news go to http://www.blacktoptv.com
