LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball Sign In Lithuania

LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball Sign In Lithuania

LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball have signed one-year deals with Prienu Vytautas in Lithuania’s LKL league.   “We engaged in serious talks with several teams, and Vytautas made the most sense as LaMelo and LiAngelo work to develop as professionals and set a foundation for their careers,” their agent Harrison Gaines told Yahoo! Sports. “It was critical to find a situation in a competitive league that works with both of their short- and long-term goals.”   ESPN No. 7 ranked high school junior LaMelo Ball and his brother, ex-UCLA freshman LiAngelo, who recently left the school amid his China shoplifting arrest, signed with Gaines earlier this week, ending their amateur careers.   Dad LaVar Ball had already pulled LaMelo out of Chino Hills High School (CA) over the summer due to disagreements with the coach.   “I want them to go somewhere where they will play them together on the court at the same time,” LaVar Ball told ESPN. “The priority is for the boys to play on the same team.”   In Lithuania, the Ball brothers will be joining a Prienu Vytautas team that 4-0 in the Baltic League and is led by top scorer Eigirdas Zukauskas, who is averaging 13.1 points a game this season.   “Our club is excited for the arrival of LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball,” said Vytautas sports director Vilius Vaitkevicius said. “We are committed to their long-term success and development as professional basketball players.”   LaMelo, a 6-2 point guard, averaged 26.7 points last season for Chino Hills HS (CA) as a sophomore, including pouring in an eye-popping 92 points in a 146-123 win over Los Osos in February.   The 6-5 LiAngelo Ball, ESPN’s No. 41 SF in the 2017 high school class and younger brother of Lakers’ 2017 No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball, averaged 33.8 points last season for Chino HS, leading the team to a 30-3 record.   For more basketball news go to
