No. 16 Jr C Ian Steere Decommits From Creighton

Watch No. 16 Jr C Ian Steere Highlights (VIDEO)

ESPN No. 16 ranked high school junior center Ian Steere has decommitted from Creighton.   "(I) want to be a little closer to home, and I'm considering everyone," Steere told Rivals of the move.   The 6-9, 240-pound big man out of Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC) averaged 8.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks this summer on the Under Armour circuit for Team Charlotte (though 10 games).   Before signing with Creighton, Steere was considering top programs such as Kansas, Louisville, NC State, Arkansas, and Maryland.   He had originally committed to the Blue Jays because he felt that he would be their top recruit.   “It’s just the confidence they have in me,” Steere told omaha.com when he signed. “Coach Mac [head coach Greg McDermott], he laid out a plan — and I really trust what they’re envisioning for me. I can’t say no to a school that’s going to make me a 100 percent priority.”   But now it appears that Steere is looking for greener pastures elsewhere.   Steere said that whichever school winds up landing him will be getting a versatile big.   “My athleticism, strength, my speed and agility for my height and size,” Steere told Rivals of his strengths. “[I have a] post up and face up game, defense, rebounding and midrange.”     For more basketball news go to http://www.blacktoptv.com
