No. 24 Sr Shareef O'Neal: I’m Good Fit For Zona

ESPN No. 24 high school senior and Arizona commit Shareef O’Neal thinks he is a good fit for the Wildcats.   “They say that my game will fit in well there,” O’Neal told “I’m a big man, playing like a wing.”   “I would say I’m an all-around player,” added O’Neal. “I can work in every position if I get the chance to.”   And this season, O’Neal is focused on getting even better all aspects of his well-rounded repertoire.   “I’m trying to improve all of my game,” said O’Neal. “I know there are some spots I’m better at but there’s always room for improvement, with my post game, on the perimeter, at the guard spot, on the wing, anything. I’m just trying to improve everything.”   The versatile and high-flying 6-9 forward, whose father is NBA great Shaquille O’Neal, averaged 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds a game last season at Crossroads High School.   And playing on a loaded Cal Supreme Nike EYBL team alongside 7-2 center and No. 4 Sr Bol Bol, O’Neal averaged an impressive 15.1 points and 6.1 rebounds this summer.   According to Scout’s Josh Gershon, O’Neal has a very different game than his post-up center dad Shaq.   “[Shareef] O’Neal is an athletic four man with good size, length and athleticism who can score with his jumper or around the basket,” wrote Gershon. “His physical tools give him upside as a rebounder and defender.”     For more basketball news go to
