No. 87 Jr Eric Ayala Picks Top 9 Schools

ESPN No. 87 ranked high school junior Eric Ayala has picked his top 9 colleges.   They are: Arizona, Indiana, Oregon, Syracuse, Maryland, Ohio State, LSU, Georgetown, and Miami.   Also amid mounting speculation that he would reclassify into the 2017 class, Ayala has decided to stay put and play out his senior year of high school.   “I just feel like I got a better opportunity in 2018 as far as trying to establish myself,” Ayala told Zagsblog. “I just want to keep getting better. I’m not in a rush to go to college and rush the process.”   The 6-5 guard out of Putnam Science Academy (CT) averaged 14.2 points on the Under Armour AAU circuit this year for WeR1, leading the team to the 2017 UAA championship.   With the Under Armour finals win, WeR1 became the first ever 17U squad defend their title at the event.   “A physical combo guard who can score, Ayala’s leadership and toughness stood out in leading WeR1 to a championship,” wrote Rivals’ Eric Bossi.   Ayala, who is transferring to IMG Academy (FL) for his senior season, said he is looking for a college that really wants him.   "I [want] to be a priority,” Ayala told norwichbulletin.com. “I [don’t] want to be someone’s second-fiddle. I [don’t] want to be a kid someone recruited just to see if he would come.”   “Syracuse offers a lot I like, pick-and-roll, fast,” added Ayala. “[Oregon] wants me to come in and play because they need a guard and I have a very good relationship with Coach Dana Altman. [Miami] has beautiful weather and a great coaching staff and facilities.”   Stay tuned.     For more basketball news go to http://www.blacktoptv.com/
