Cal’s Jerome Randle Re-Signs In Australia

Former Cal star Jerome Randle scored a game-high 23 points and dished out 8 assists to lead the Adelaide 36ers over the Gliddon Taipans 83-67 in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL).

The 5-10 guard was a perfect 10-10 from the line, while adding 2 rebounds and a steal in the win.

With his outstanding play, Randle earned another Australiabasket.com NBL Player of the Week award.

Nathan Sobey (Wyoming) had 15 points with 9 rebounds and former Arizona commit, ESPN No. 11 2016 recruit Terrance Ferguson, who skipped college to play with Adelaide this year, added 8 points in the victory.

But the star of this game was Randle, who is the NBL’s top scorer this season at 24 points a game.

A college star at Cal, Randle led the team in scoring as a senior in 2009-10, when he averaged 18.6 points and guided the Bears to their first Pac-10 title in 50 years.

He was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year that season, and led Cal to the 2010 NCAA tournament’s second round.

Randle graduated as the school’s all-time career leader in scoring, three-pointers made, and free throw percentage, and was second all-time in assists.

He was also in the NBL last season, where he led the 36ers in scoring at 22.2 points a game.

Randle previously played in the Turkish Basketball League, where he averaged 15.8 points and 5 assists for Eskisehir Basket.

He has also played overseas in Israel, Ukraine and Belgium, as well as with the NBA D-League’s Texas Legends and Maine Red Claws.
