ESPN No. 17 ranked high school senior center Javian Fleming has committed to Alabama.

The 6-9 big man averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds, and a whopping 3 blocks last season for Canton HS (MS).

Fleming also had a strong summer, averaging 4.7 points and 6.5 rebounds for Team Thad on the Under Armour circuit.

“I chose Alabama because I trust their coaches and I bonded with their players,” Fleming told clarionledger.com. “I just felt really comfortable being down there.”

Fleming said his all-around game will allow him to make a big impact on the Tide next fall.

“I think I can help Alabama with my versatility, with me being able to score the ball with my back to the basket or facing up,” Fleming told Scout. “They really like my passing ability and defense, where I can switch on to guards.”

The Crimson Tide beat out Georgetown, TCU, Iowa State, and Texas A&M to land Fleming.

At Alabama, Fleming will join fellow 2018 recruit No. 83 Jared Butler.
